The Secret Garden – An Introduction to Cyanotype Printing with Yasmin Nebenführ

Cyanotype is an alternative photographic process – a chemical, camera-less technique – that was embraced by botanist Anna Atkins in the 19th century to document her botanical findings.

Join photo-media artist Yasmin Nebenführ in the garden of Stadtraum Mitte for an introductory workshop, where methods of creating cyanotype prints will be explored. Participants will learn the fundamentals of this historical process, experiment with natural materials, and create their own sun-printed artworks.

Feel free to bring materials to experiment with, such as pressed or dried flowers, film negatives, or transparent fabrics like lace.
