Panel discussion with Anna Höfling, Florentin Kurz, Naa Teki Lebar, Katharina Manojlovic
Location:
Festival Headquarters (GREEN DOOR artists space & gallery, Kempelengasse 8, 1100 Vienna)
The panel discussion with curator and cultural scientist Katharina Manojlovic and the artists Anna Höfling, Florentin Kurz and Naa Teki Lebar focuses on the role of photographic narratives and performative strategies for the visualisation, appropriation and transformation of history/s.
In her photo series and installations, Naa Teki Lebar keeps looking for ways to confront and undermine the hegemonic gaze. She is part of the zine collective PERLEN & PROSA, the artist collective The Bosom Friends and the queer-feminist screenwriting collective Spreitz.
Anna Höfling’s photographic practice is based on extensive research. In her work, she deals with the (contemporary) handling of history as well as the overlapping of individual and collective narratives and their retrospective perception. She is co-founder of the arts and culture association Highbrow Institute and the magazine resonanzen.store.
Florentin Kurz works with photography and moving image. At the centre of his attention are photographic processes and media transformations as well as experimenting with various materials and space. In the abstract series “Sketches from the Rabbit Hole” (2022), working on the material for days and nights on end becomes the actual motif.
In cooperation with School Friedl Kubelka for Artistic Photography (Director: Anja Manfredi).
