Helena Kalleitner

The Loss of Leaving (Example)

The work „the loss of leaving” deals with objects and traces found in supposedly uninhabited but not empty premises. The location has been visited several times and the objects suggest that different people have lived, stayed or sought shelter in these rooms at different times. Helena Kalleitner investigates these time spans and weaves them into a common context. The objects left behind visualise that living space can be something temporary. During the process, the basic human needs for space and retreat emerged as major overthemes.
